Their shape and structure are same as shown in the figure because they are closely related genetically. All citrus fruit varieties are the result of crossing three fruits – the Pomelo, a type of grapefruit, the Mandarin Orange, and the Citron, a type of lemon. While citrus fruits are famous for having vitamin C, they also have a family of citrus flavonoids that are both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. When you squeeze the peel, a small amount of juice comes out. The peel or zest has limonoids and geraniol. These Phytonutrients are used in martinis and other cocktails to add flavor and they are added to orange juice to give it a fresh squeezed taste. They have some beneficial effects in cells as well. So enjoy citrus fruits, but remember it takes two and a half oranges to make an 8 ounce glass of orange juice which has 240 Calories, so have a small glass or dilute the juice with sparkling water. #drdavidheber #citrus #oranges #lemon #limes #vitamins #phytonutrients #zest to learn more go to www.drdavidheber.com and www.herbalifenutrition.com A post shared by Dr. David Heber (@drdavidheber) on May 22, 2017 at 6:06am PDT Share this:TwitterFacebookLike this:Like Loading...‹ The Green Group includes broccoli, arugula, brussel sprouts, Chinese cabbage, Bok Choy, and HorseradishThe White-Green group includes garlic, onions, chives, and asparagus. ›Categories: Nutrition
