Reverse Muscle Aging with High intensity interval training in combination with resistance exercises such as push-ups, weightlifting, and resistance bands. Today is senior health and fitness day in the United States so I want to update you on the latest concepts in reversing muscle aging which is not only a concern for seniors but also for anyone living a sedentary lifestyle. If you sit around all day, your muscles will shorten as the cells are broken down and your muscles will get smaller as has been observed with aging. High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) consists of short 20 second bursts of maximal activity followed by 10 seconds of lower level activity. It used to be that 30 minutes of exercise at 70% of maximum. Then repeat this over several minutes. When you combine HIIT with resistance exercise using weights, bands, or Pilates, you can reverse some age associated changes in muscle. You can restore the number of Mitochondria, the energy factories of the muscle cell and its protein synthesizing capability. #drdavidheber #muscle #hiit #exercise #weightlifting #pilates to learn more go to www.drdavidheber. com and www.herbalifenutritioninstitute.com
