Cinnamon is grown in Indonesia, China,Vietnam, and Sri Lanka. The spice is processed in several forms including cinnamon sticks, cinnamon powder, and dried flowers. The most common form is a spice powder used to season foods. In amounts as low as 4 grams that could fit on a teaspoon, Cinnamon has been shown to help control blood sugar in the normal range. Cinnamic acid, chromium, and cinnamon polyphenols are believed to be responsible for the blood sugar lowering effects. The main reason for high blood sugar levels of 80 million Americans is excess body fat. Through healthy active lifestyle, protein shakes, and balanced nutrition, body composition can be changed to increase muscle mass. Muscle takes up glucose from the blood efficiently during exercise and at rest independent of insulin leading to better glucose control. So enjoy cinnamon, but it is not a treatment for diabetes. It may help lower glucose, but it is not the most effective way to do this. Stick with your program of balanced nutrition, healthy active lifestyle, and protein after exercise while putting some spice in your life!! #drdavidheber #cinnamon #spices #blood sugar#diabetes #muscle to learn more go to www.drdavidheber.com and www.herbalifenutritioninstitute.com A post shared by Dr. David Heber (@drdavidheber) on Jul 6, 2017 at 5:44am PDT Share this:TwitterFacebookLike this:Like Loading...‹ CHOLINE: 90% of Americans do not get adequate choline in their diet since they don’t eat much red meat or eggs.Herbal Fact #12: COENZYME Q10 is found in all cells of the body as part of the energy factories of the cells called Mitochondria. ›Categories: Nutrition
