One of my professors in medical school, Herbert Benson coined this process THE RELAXATION RESPONSE in his book by the same title and showed that he could lower blood pressure and pulse with relaxation. You can use meditation, massage, and progressive muscle contraction and release going from head to toes to achieve the relaxation response. Practice the six steps of the relaxation response: sit quietly; relax your muscles; focus on breathing; breathe deeply; think of a relaxing image at the beach, mountains, or pool; and allow your self to relax. Repeat the cycle until you are totally relaxed for ten to 20 minutes and then return to your day refreshed and ready to coach more clients in Balanced Nutrition and a Healthy Active Lifestyle!! #drdavidheber #relax #meditation #imagination to learn more go to www.drdavidheber.com and www.herbalifenutritioninstitite.com A post shared by Dr. David Heber (@drdavidheber) on Aug 5, 2017 at 5:41am PDT Share this:TwitterFacebookLike this:Like Loading...‹ Behavior Change #9: ACTIVE LISTENING will help you connect with those you are coaching.Behavior Change #11: COMPASSION is being able to picture yourself with another person’s problems without shaming or blaming them. ›Categories: Nutrition
