THE POWER OF PROTEIN is that it controls hunger better than refined carbohydrates or fats which form the base of most snack foods and fast foods. After you eat a high fat/high sugar food you get hungry again and eat more leading to weight gain. Protein sends signals to the brain centers that control hunger from many organs using a number of hormones after you eat the right amount of protein at every meal so that you get 30% protein in your diet over the day. 30% protein will not only help you control hunger to lose weight, it can also help maintain your weight after you lose weight. The DIOGENES Study in eight European countries in over 800 people, tested diets that were either 15% or 30% protein and high or low Glycemic Index (low Glycemic Index diets are rich in fruits, vegetables, and fiber). Of all the diets only the 30% Protein/ low Glycemic Index Diet maintained weight over 6 months. People on all the other diets gained weight. A 30% protein diet is one that provides about 1 gram per pound or 2 grams per kilogram lean body mass. This study supports what I have been promoting globally for the last 14 years. It is not magical, and you still need to control your cravings and exercise, but it really works! Have Protein-Rich shakes to supplement the protein in your meals to reach 30% protein, have 7 servings of Colorful Fruits and Vegetables providing 25 to 30 grams of fiber per day and you will have success not only in losing excess fat weight but in keeping it off!! #drdavidheber #protein #fiber #fruits #vegetables #weightlossjourney #research to learn more go to www.drdavidheber.com and www.herbalifenutritioninstitute.com
