NUTRITION HOW’S # 12: HOW TO ADD FAT? After cutting out as much as you can of the hidden processed snacks and omega-6 fats form your diet, adding back healthy fats including olive oil. avocado oil, and fish oil supplements is the next step in balancing the fatty acids in all the cells of your body. When adding fat to your diet, it is important to both add the right fats and to add them in the right amounts. Some people think that because these are good fats you can add as much as you want. That is not true, since one tablespoon or 15 ml has about 135 Calories!! Add olive oil for grilling using a sprayer or mister. Add oils to a pan or cooking surface only after you heat the surface. That way, the oil will spread to cover the surface when it hits the hot metal. It is hard to guess the right amount of oil to add to a cold pan and most people add too much! I have taught myself to add very little salad dressing or use lemon, wine vinegar, rice vinegar or balsamic vinegar. If you are using salad dressing, add it from the cap of the bottle rather than pouring on a lot of dressing straight from the bottle. Always ask for dressing on the side in restaurants. By adding back the healthy fats rich in monounsaturated fatty acids carefully, you will make room for your fish oil supplements and fish oils from ocean-caught fish to have their maximum positive effects in all the cells of your body!! #drdavidheber #cooking #omega3 #omega6 #healthyfats to learn more go to www.drdavidheber.com and www.herbalifenutritioninstitute.com
