NUTRITION HOW’S ? #6: HOW TO EAT AFTER DINNER? About 25% of overweight and obese people eat 40% of their daily calories after dinner amounting to over 600 calories of high fat, high salt, high sugar snack foods. Why is this? After the sun goes down, stress increases and your metabolism is getting ready for sleep. The decrease in sunlight is detected by your brain in a region called the Master Clock. In ancient times, people retreated to their caves and relaxed because it was dangerous to be out with wild animals. Many predators like tigers and lions become active at night. Today electrical lighting of homes, computers, smartphones, and television overcome our natural need to relax. Don’t look through your kitchen cabinets and refrigerators at night. Don’t snack while watching television. The best exercise at night is to walk away from the refrigerator! If you eat anything at night it should be an Evening Shake rich in protein. One of the amino acids in protein is Tryptophan which is converted to Serotonin and then Melatonin in your brain which helps you sleep. To get ready for sleep have no extra food 3 hours before bedtime, stop working 2 hours before bedtime, and no television, computer or smartphone 1 hour before bedtime. Getting good sleep will help reset your metabolism for the next day so you can start with a Healthy Breakfast Protein-Rich Shake for Balanced Nutrition and a Healthy Active Lifestyle !!#drdavidheber #protein #sleep #binging to learn more go to www.drdavidheber.com and www.herbalifenutritioninstitute.com
