When you are inactive, your muscles accommodate to your posture and muscles that are not used shorten and weaken. As you begin to build those muscles back, you need specific targeted exercises. You can find specific exercises for Glutes including squats, side steps, leg press, and clamshells; Back including pulldowns; Chest including chest press; Arms including biceps curl and triceps pull down; Abs including various sit-ups; and Legs including quadriceps and hamstring curls. Just walking on a treadmill is not enough. You still need aerobics and HIIT or High Intensity Interval Training for your heart and for calorie and fat burning, but this can be worked into your daily routine.
