WEIGHT MANAGEMENT BASICS #27: #5 WARMING UP By laurent514 on May 27, 2019 • ( 0 ) View this post on Instagram WEIGHT MANAGEMENT BASICS #27: #5 WARMING UP- Once you have your music, your clothes for working out, your Sports Drink and you arrive at your gym- it is time to warm up. Warming up is important so that you get blood flowing in your muscles even before you stretch or lift weights. Going right into exercise without stretching can lead to muscle strains and joint pain. To warm up get moving on a treadmill, bicycle, or elliptical. If you are in a class with no equipment you can do movements in place like jumping jacks or even dance moves. The idea is to get your heart rate up to 70% of your personal maximum heart rate for 5 to 10 minutes. You can calculate your personal target heart rate by subtracting your age from 220 and multiplying by 0.7. At this rate you should be able to talk comfortably. Once you have warmed up you are ready to stretch and roll which will be the subject of my next post – so stay tuned!! to learn more go to www.drdavidheber.com and www.herbalifenutritioninstitute.com and read PERSONALIZED NUTRITION AND TRANSFORMATION available as an e-book from Amazon.com for $ 5.49.
