BRAIN HEALTH #6: DAILY BRAIN RHYTHMS- Your brain goes through a series of changes every 24 hours in response to light that enters the eye and sends a signal to the Master Clock called the Third Eye or Pineal Gland which stimulates a brain center called the Suprachiasmatic Nucleus or SCN to make Serotonin when the sun goes down getting you ready for sleep. As you sleep, your brain shows different electrical activities that can be detected though your scalp with an EEG (ElectroEncephaloGram). As you get into deep sleep usually around 2AM, you may dream and your eyes can move quickly which is why this phase of sleep is called REM (Rapid Eye Movement) Sleep. When you get this quality sleep, you wake up rested. If you have poor sleep like on an airplane or train, then you wake up tired and you may eat more the next day leading to overweight and obesity. If you sleep well, you wake up ready to go and alert for work in the morning. Your meals also send signals to the brain through nerves and through substances made by your gut bacteria in response to the foods you eat. The afternoon is when you might get tired and need a protein snack at 4 or 5 PM. So it is also important to have Balanced Nutrition, Protein-Rich Shakes, and a Healthy Active Lifestyle on a regular schedule. Try to have a routine schedule of meals, exercise, and sleep every day and your Brain will work at its Best!!! #drdavidheber #brain #rhythm #nutrition #exercise #weightlossjourney to learn more go to www.drdavidheber.com and www.herbalifenutritioninstitute.com and read PERSONALIZED NUTRITION AND TRANSFORMATION available on Amazon.com for $5.49
