FAT FACTS #8 : CAFFEINE AND THE FAT CELL- Caffeine is a natural substance made by plants to defend themselves. It is also a Phytonutrient because it has beneficial effects on your body. It improves all aspects of brain health including memory,mood, attention, and thinking ability. When you are cutting calories, it restores your energy, and when you are exercising, it helps you perform better by releasing fatty acids from the fat cell which can be burned for energy by your muscles. So coffee is both a diet aid and a sports performance booster. It also activates your sympathetic nervous system which increases pulse rate and sweating. So be careful with some of those energy drinks that have too much caffeine.
